I'm trying to help a friends website (using shopify platform) website.com and another one us.website.com. The us-site is neccessary because the prices are slightly different from the rest of the world, due to something... anyway they really need a separate us-site, the content and directories are the same on both exept the prices. If you are visiting the site from another location you will be redirected to .com and vice versa.
The question/problem: the us-site is ranking in europe, instead of the .com. Both on important keywords and on the brand / the store itself. It doesn't look good in search results and I'm thinking its no good with all the uneccessary redirects (?)
I know other sites uses .com/us .com/en .com/it etc, but with Shopify it's not possible, you need a subdomain for this.
In search console the us.website.com is targeted for USA. However, of course the .com is not targeted especially for "all countries except united states" since that is not possible and I assume it would be a bad idea anyway since us us. is a subdomain...:P
Anyways, I cant understand why us.website.com has to rank higher in sweden? Thoughts about this are very appreciated!
edit: det finns hreflang taggar och det är engelska på båda siterna, så innehållet är som jag skrev samma. us-domänen rankar högre i ALLA länder. Kan det vara det faktumet att det är just en subdomän som påverkar så mycket - i så fall VARFÖR? Besökarna ska verkligen inte komma till us-siten.
